Parents have until the end of the month to apply for a place at a new free school in Radlett.

Harperbury Free School, which will open in September, is accepting applications for its first intake of students from children living in Radlett, St Albans Borehamwood, Shenley, and Bricket Wood.

The headteacher, Martin Blain, will meet parents at local primary schools throughout the month, starting at Fair Field School in Radlett next Tuesday and Newberries School in Radlett next Wednesday at 6pm.

Mr Blain said: "Harperbury Free School is a brand new seat of learning, which will have high academic standards and innovative teaching.

"As the Founding Head, I will use my experience in a range of schools to bring to life the aspirations of the founding governors and to serve the whole school community.

"I look forward to leading a school rooted in traditional values of hard work, respect and high achievement and to delivering outstanding examination results."
