Hertfordshire’s police and crime commissioner stepped into the ring with a former world boxing champion when he visited Three Rivers last week.
David Lloyd visited South Oxhey Amateur Boxing Club on Wednesday, going toe-to-toe with retired boxer, John Conteh.
He also attended Box Cleva, which is a sporting and educational project centred around amateur boxing and led by Herts Fire and Rescue Service.
Mr Lloyd said: "It is clear that a lot of positive work is being done to improve the lives of residents in Three Rivers and to change the way that local authorities and police engage with younger people in particular.
"It is important that everyone has a stake in keeping the area where they live safe. I am keen to involve as many people as possible in community and volunteer projects that contribute to this."
