Homes in north Watford have been left without power since 6am this morning.

Residents reported more than a hundred homes have been affected by the outage, but UK Power Networks said only six customers in the Hazel Tree Road area were cut off.

This was due to a fault on a low voltage underground cable. Engineers are currently on site and working quickly to restore supplies to those affected.

Andrew Drinkwater, from UK Power Networks, said: "We understand how difficult it is to be without electricity and would like to apologise for the inconvenience."
