Detectives have released an image of a distinctive silver duck that was stolen along with other items in a burglary in Oxhey.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the property in Vivian Gardens was broken into via a window of a door at the rear of the property sometime between 8am and 7.35pm on Wednesday, January 15.

As well as the silver plated pewter duck, two silver napkin rings - one of which was engraved with a name and a date, a TomTom Sat Nav and items of costume jewellery, which included a shell necklace and emerald green pendant, were also taken.

Detective Constable Jon Oke is investigating the incident and said: "The duck and napkin rings stolen are quite unique and distinctive items. If anyone knows of their whereabouts, or have been offered them for sale, they should contact me straight away.

"I would also ask that if anyone remembers seeing or hearing anything suspicious in the area during the day of incident to contact me."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Oke via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, citing crime reference C3/14/54.
