The National Animal Welfare Trust is appealing to local dog and cat lovers to show their affection by donating pet food at Asda’s Dome roundabout store on Valentine’s Day.

Staff from the trust on the A41 Tylers Way, Bushey, and some of the dogs they are caring for will be at the supermarket from 11am until 1pm on February 14, 15 and 16, to collect donated food at their "pet food bank".

The trust rescues and re-homes hundreds of animals in need of care and attention each year, offering a safe haven and good care before finding them new homes.

The trust pledges to never destroy a healthy animal.

Visitors can view the menagerie of dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other animals in need of re-homing from 11am until 3pm any day, apart from Wednesday.
