Garston Ladies Under-14s went home with the bragging rights after beating local rivals Watford Ladies Harts 2-1 on Saturday.

After a scrappy start to the match, Garston took the lead when Amy Robb capitalised on a defensive error to steer the ball home.

Watford equalised soon after the restart through Zoe Bird’s well-taken free-kick but Garston continued to press and secured the win when Sydney Gammell flicked a Charli Dormer corner into the path of Robb, who finished from close range.

Garston’s Under-13s were also up against local rivals in the shape of table-topping Evergreen and the points were shared in a 1-1 draw.

After a goalless first half, Garston went ahead when Amy Lafayette found the net from distance.

It looked like the visitors were going to come away with the spoils until Evergreen grabbed a late equaliser and forced a draw.

The only other game to survive the weather saw the Under-10 Mets travel to Bedmond where Bliss Murray notched a hat-trick for the Purples – her second in successive weeks.
