Dacorum Borough Council is asking residents to take part in a survey to help them keep up to date with the needs of people living in council-owned properties.

The borough council is repeating its Survey of Tenants and Residents (STAR) two years after it did it the first time.

The results from STAR will be compared with other social housing providers so that the council can see how well they are doing.

Tenants and Leaseholders will receive the survey through their letterbox this week. The results will be used to make improvements to the housing service they receive.

Councillor Margaret Griffiths, Portfolio Holder for Housing, said: "Back in 2012, more than eight out of ten tenants told us that they were satisfied with the housing service we provide. You also told us that there were some issues we needed to work on and we have acted on these concerns."

"One of the best ways for us to find out whether we’re on track and getting things right is to measure tenants’ and leaseholders’ satisfaction. The more people who share their views with us, the better informed any improvements to the housing service will be. When we have the results we will publish them and act on them".

Council tenants and leaseholders are being asked to complete the survey and return the form in the post, free of charge, by February 28, 2014.
