Fire fighters were called to a house in South Oxhey last night after a plastic bag was left on an electric hob.

The crew from Watford were called at 8.25pm to the house in Clitheroe Gardens.

There was no fire, but the house had to be ventilated.

Yes and no, it isn't so bad. The firefighters were being paid anyway.
Like anyone else, I'd be happy to see them paid to do nothing because there were no emergencies, but this incident won't break the bank because of a call out. Diesel costs at most, and a bit of practice for something important when or if it happens.
