Garston Manor School students have been given an early preview of their new multi-million pound building.
The pupils were given a tour of the £4.7m school building in Horseshoe Lane, which will replace their aging facilities.
The new school will provide 124 places for students aged 11 to 16 years with moderate learning difficulties.
Julie Lowman, headteacher at Garston Manor, said: "The build is progressing well and the students were very excited by the opportunity to be part of the building process at Garston Manor School and the impact it has for its current and future students."
The new building will feature flexible classrooms, as well as food technology, art, drama and science areas, specialist sensory rooms and pastoral care units.
Upon completion, the original school will be demolished to make way for play areas.
