A man was assaulted by a group of people at a bus stop in Watford town centre.

An 18-year-old man got off a coach and approached a group of young men, who he thought were his friends, at the junction of Beechen Grove and Albert Road South.

The group then assaulted him, causing cuts and bruises to his face. The incident happened between 3.15am and 3.45am on Sunday, February 2.

One of the attackers was described as a white man in his 20s, with a shaven head. The second was described as a white man with blonde hair.

The group then got on another coach, which drove off.

PC Dafydd Dewey is investigating and said: "I have been conducting a number of enquiries into this incident, which left the victim with some gashes to his head and a bruised eye.

"I would like to speak to anyone who may have been driving home at the time and saw the fight or anyone who may have details of the offenders or the coach they were travelling in."

Anyone with information can telephone PC Dewey on 101, citing crime reference C1/14/508, or through Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
