A 17-year-old from Bushey has been elected to a Jewish International Board for a convention in Dallas.

Jonah Moore will be responsible for co-ordinating social action and Jewish education campaigns and projects in 20 countries worldwide, as well as helping co-ordinate BBYO events in the UK and America.

BBYO is the world’s leading Jewish youth movement, engaging 40,000 teenagers in 20 different countries between the ages of 13-18.

Jonah said: "I can’t find the words to describe how excited I am for the year ahead - I know it’s going to be the best year of my life."

BBYO’s international board is made up of 10 teenagers, who aim to bring more meaningful Jewish experiences to more Jewish teenagers. Jonah currently serves as BBYO UK and Ireland’s National Judaism and Zionism Awareness Officer and previously held the same position on the Radlett Chapter executive.

In addition, Jonah has previously attended Israel Tour, summer camps, residential leadership courses and residential weekends with BBYO UK and Ireland.

Matt Herman, BBYO UK and Ireland’s national director said: "We are incredibly proud of Jonah. It's testament to the quality of BBYO’s leadership training and the incredible opportunities that BBYO offers that."
