Stars of Chorleywood community joined together on Saturday to celebrate 90 years of their local hall.

Hundreds of people packed into The War Memorial Hall, in Common Road, for the Chorleywood Presents event, which was organised by Chorleywood Parish Council.

There was a range of performances and presentations by some of the current users of the hall, including a show from pupils of The Carol Kristian Theatre School, which has used the premises for more than 30 years.

There was also Egyptian belly dancing and songs from the Chorleywood Choral Society.

In the past, the hall has been used as a military hospital, a Quaker meeting hall, a theatre for amateur dramatics, concerts and pantomimes.

It is now used for parties, weddings, tea dances, literary meetings and a number of exercise classes.

The event ran from 7pm to 9.30pm and refreshments were provided throughout the evening from the Royal Voluntary Society.

There were also presentations from a decorative and fine arts society, Chorleywood Bookshop and performances from a children’s Zumba class.
