An Abbots Langley charity has been given thousands of pounds to invest in a more cost and environmentally-friendly vehicle.

Harpenden Building Society donated £15,000 to Demand so that it is able to continue visiting people in the community to assess and meet their needs.

Demand makes equipment, from bespoke furniture to battery powered racing cars, to aid people who live with disabilities.

The charity receives no Government funding and relies solely on donations and fundraising to support their work.

Paul Marsden, Director and Chief Executive of Harpenden Building Society, said: "We are delighted to have been able to support such a worthwhile cause. Demand provides innovative bespoke equipment to disabled people, which can transform lives. The ability to safely transport this equipment is paramount, and we were very pleased to help."
