A Rickmansworth golf club donated sand from its bunkers to fill sandbags for nearby residents during this month’s floods.
Rickmansworth Golf Course handed over the sand and helped deliver the bags to residents affected by rising flood water in Moor Lane.
James McLeod, the club’s golf operations manager, said: "Away from the golf course, bunkers are often associated as a refuge from harm, so providing sand for flood victims is perhaps more in line with this traditional view."
