Police investigating a burglary are trying to trace a woman who found and handed in a driving licence.

Between 6pm on Friday February 7 and 12.05am on Saturday February 8, a burglar, or burglars, broke into a property in Kingsfield Road Watford and stole a safe which contained a number of sentimental items of jewellery.

Then, on February 10 at about 10.15am, a woman knocked on the victim's neighbour's door, as the victim was not at home, and handed back their driving licence, which she had found.

Detective constable Vishal Khanna is investigating, and said: "I am keen to speak with this lady to find out where she found this driving licence as this information could prove vital as part of our investigation. If this was you, please contact police. The victim is also keen to pass on their thanks for returning it."

Anyone with information can contact DC Khanna on 101, quoting crime reference number C1/14/583, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
