Watford’s 27-year-old hospital radio service is launching an ambitious “donate-a-disc” appeal in south-west Hertfordshire.

The Watford Hospital Broadcasting Service would like to hear from anyone with good condition records they no longer need. The service wants singles, albums, even old 78s, and can arrange for them to be picked up when the appeal is officially launched in April.

The hospital radio began in 1956 with pre-recorded football commentaries. It has grown into a comprehensive broadcasting service which covers Shrodells, the Peace Memorial and Bushey hospitals.
