Watford’s MP Mr Raphael Tuck, who is to retire at the end of the present Parliament, seems certain to be made a Freeman of the borough.
“I am over the moon about it,” said Mr Tuck. “It is a wonderful honour they have done me.”
The motion that he be made a Freeman in honour of his 15 years’ service to the people of Watford and the Corporation, is signed by councillors Leslie Hughes and Leslie Cox, secretary and assistant secretary of the Labour Group of the council. It speaks of service “freely given, often while under great adversity.”
