Delighted children and their families on a "Stars" grief programme at Peace Hospice Care were bowled over by the generosity of Hollywood Bowl and West Herts College.

The kind hearted gesture was made available for the ten bereaved youngsters and their families and gave them an opportunity to come together, socialise and have a memorable moment.

As well as trying their luck on the bowling lanes they tucked into hearty refreshments, including a free lunch box from Hollywood Bowl, and also had an opportunity to have their faces painted by a  West Herts College volunteer.

Lee Hallett, whose two children had both attended the grief programme, said: "‘Today has been a fantastic day. I would like to thank everyone at Stars for giving us the opportunity."

Peace Hospice Care Children and young peoples co-ordinator Jo Derry said: "Everyone had such a fun time and gained support from each other and from the facilitators.

"I would like to thank everyone involved, including Hollywood Bowl, West Herts College, Valeside Catering, photographer Edna Williamson and all the volunteers who supported the day."
