Peace Hospice Care events manager Pete Watson will be sharing his story of success at a large national conference for professional fundraisers.

His story will be shared with an audience of more than 50 leading hospice fundraising professionals at the National Association of Hospice Fundraisers Annual Conference (NAHF).

Mr Watson has been invited to speak at the event, held today and tomorrow, following the huge success of the Push it for the Peace obstacle run in Cassiobury Park in September 2013.

The gruelling challenge raised more than £60,000 for the hospice and Mr Watson will be sharing some of his experiences and learnings with other hospices.

He said: "It is a real honour to have been asked to present at the NAHF conference especially when it is one of the new fundraising events that I have been involved with setting up.

"Given that many other hospices are wanting to find out about what we are doing with our fundraising events and looking to us as an example of best practice just shows that Peace Hospice Care is really leading the way."

The success of the Push it for the Peace fundraiser prompted the debut of the River Runner  challenge on Saturday, March 29.

The event in Cassiobury park promises mud, water and a two mile sprint course that will push competitors to the limit. Last minute places are available for the River Runner.
