New cycle hoops are due to be installed around central Watford and Oxhey as part of an initiative to get more people on their bikes.

Hertfordshire County Council is spending £900 on the secure locking points at the junction of Villiers Road and Capel Road, the junction of Villiers Road and Upper Paddock Road, the junction of St John's Road and two hoops at Woodford Road and by the HSBC in Chalk Hil.

Cycle hoops are also being installed outside Oxhey Methodist Church, Oxhey Baptist Church, St Mathew's Church,  Oxhey Bowls Club and The Load of Hay Pub.

The money has come from the council’s locality budget.
