A Chorleywood care home welcomed residents to a "wonderful" afternoon of high tea last Wednesday as part of the Taste of Sunrise campaign.

Sunrise Senior Living of Chorleywood, in High View, hosted the event between 3pm and 4.30pm as part of a national initiative.

The Taste of Sunrise campaign was launched to highlight the importance of nutritious food for older people.

Guests could sample the cakes, scones and biscuits that were on offer for afternoon tea and entertainment was also provided.

Nathalie Roberts, director of community relations at Sunrise of Chorleywood, said: "We all had a wonderful afternoon. The tea party was a great opportunity to celebrate the Taste of Sunrise and a chance to educate people about the need for a nutritious diet as you grow older.

"We want to thank our dining team who work hard every day to ensure every single resident receives exceptional food which meets their individual needs, and that our residents enjoy the highest quality of care. We are so proud of them.

"Dining for a lot of our residents is the focal part of the day and it is important that what they are served gives them something to look forward to."
