A scout group in Bushey that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year will be forced to close if they cannot replace the leaders.

The 79th Bushey & Oxhey Scout Group, based in Park Avenue, face indefinite closure if they cannot find new adult volunteers to take over as leaders of the Beaver Colony and Cub Pack.

Without a feed of young people progressing through the younger sections of the Group, the 79th Scout Troop is also at risk of closure due to falling numbers of young people.

Brian Fox, group scout leader, said: "The 79th are desperately seeking new leaders to take on the running of  the Beaver and Cub sections. No past experience is necessary to become an adult leader within scouting.

"Volunteers will only be required to dedicate a couple of hours each week to scouting activities and training is provided.

"Please help save he 79th Scout Group from closure."
