Watford FC players go green to highlight climate change
Watford FC players donned bright green T-shirts urging fans to pick up greener habits as part of initiative to make the town environmentally friendly.
The players wore the T-shirts as they warmed-up the for the match against Blackburn Rovers at Vicarage Road last night.
The initiative came as elected mayor of Watford, Dorothy Thornhill, signed an agreement reaffirming Watford’s commitment to reduce the town’s carbon footprint and tackle climate change.
Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "Climate change is serious, the recent floods show this. We all need to be sensible and do our bit to cut energy use - it’s a good thing for the environment and our pockets. By signing Climate Local, we are reaffirming our commitment to creating a greener Watford and are delighted Watford FC is supporting us in doing so."
