Staff from TJX Europe’s head office in Clarendon Road and TK Maxx store St Albans Road have been clearing out their wardrobes to support Give Up Clothes for Good, a partnership between the labels-for-less retailer and Cancer Research UK.
The donated clothes were bagged, loaded on to a lorry and shipped off to Cancer Research UK and the money raised from them will be used to fund research into beating children’s cancers.
TK Maxx is the biggest corporate supporter of research into children's cancers in the UK, where around 1,600 children are diagnosed with cancer each year.
Supported by celebrities, including supermodel Jerry Hall, and shoppers from across the country, Give Up Clothes for Good has already raised £13.5 million, with £9 million funding groundbreaking research into children's cancers since launching in 2004
Since launching the campaign in February, associates based in the Clarendon Road offices have collectively donated 1,080 bags which will raise £32,400 for the charity.
