A man has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault in central Watford.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the incident happened in Victoria Passage, an alleyway in the Cassio Road area, between 1.50am and 2.05am on Wednesday, October 16.

Officers said the victim, a 20-year-old woman, was  allegedly followed from High Street before being touched inappropriately.

This week, Mohamad Sarouji, 20, from Market Street in Watford, has been charged with sexual assault.

He has been released on bail to appear before Central West Herts Magistrates Court on April 7.
