Three music students performing at a classical concert at Stanborough Park Church in Garston on Saturday evening raised £1,930 for the building's development fund.

Royal College of Music student and church member Minyoung Bae from Leavesden, performed music by Brahms, Debussy and Liszt.

Fellow performer, flautist Jessica Kabirat, a post graduate student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama performed works by Doppler and Debussy, accompanied by Rosie Whiting on the piano.

The concert is the first in the Spring Concert series produced by the Stanborough Park Church Music Department raising money for various good causes through voluntary donations by the audience.

After the service retired minister, Pastor Don Lowe, presented a violin he has restored to the church's music department.

This will be used by students taking lessons at the Stanborough College of Music which is currently offering 45 youngsters tuition in violin, viola, saxophone, piano, organ, oboe, flute and guitar by well-qualified professional musicians.
