A family run indoor play centre in Bushey that was has been closed since February due to floods is gearing up to reopen following eight weeks of clearing out, drying and refurbishment.
Parents Paradise on Greatham Road Industrial Estate was closed in February and the estimated cost of not only the refurbishment but also their loss of business could reach nearly £500,000.
Sisters and co-owners Lyn Presence and Wendy Attwood said they have been "overwhelmed" by support from the local community.
In the first few days after the flood, as well as staff arriving to help they had customers turn up wearing their wellies after dropping their children at school asking what they could do.
Mrs Attwood said: "There have been so many setbacks with the build, two steps forward three steps back. Even though everything is covered by the insurance we just wanted to be open again. We can’t wait to get back to our routine.
"Now we have the stress of hoping people actually come back."
Parents Paradise will re-open on Tuesday April 8 at 9.30am - exactly two months since they closed.
