On this day in south west Hertfordshire
The Nazi salute was given at the musical festival concert at Berkhamsted on Saturday. A pleasant surprise item was a group of German songs by a choir drawn from the Anglo-German camp and in acknowledging the applause the conductor, a young law student from Berlin, raised his hand in the approved “Heil Hitler!” style.
