Elton John is poised to sink another £1 million of his own money into Watford Football Club to help pay for the £3 million stand development at the club’s Vicarage Road ground.
“My wife, my career and Watford Football Club are what my life is all about,” he told Sports Editor Oliver Phillips this week. “I can’t think of anything else I would rather spend it on.
“People may have felt I’ve been away a lot touring and such like and that I have lost interest in the club,” said the chairman, who has already loaned the club £1 million.
“I can understand that view but I have been spending the time raising money.”
