More than £1,400 was raised for charity during a spring fair at Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church.
The fair was organised to celebrate the start of spring and the Afghan New Year and the cash raised will go to Ashram International, a charity which aims to empower women and children in Afghanistan and other similarly trouble countries around the world.
Among the visitors to the event was elected mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill who won an Easter egg in the raffle.
Millad Kabir and Alan Felt helped run the children’s activities on the day, which included a tombola, egg hunt, egg painting and kite making.
