A Rickmansworth football fan was given the opportunity to take part in an "unforgettable experience" when he was invited to play at Wembley Stadium this week.

Roman Kemp, of Valley Road, was given the chance to run out at the 90,000-seater stadium sporting the new England kit on Monday.

Mr Kemp found out about the event through the STR Skill School YouTube channel.

STR Skill School is a partner of Vauxhall, the England Team sponsor.

Two teams, which consisted of 15 players each, took part in the event. The day gave fans the chance to experience what life is like as an England international.

Mr Kemp said: "It’s been a truly unforgettable experience, to play here, in this magnificent stadium alongside legends of the game, what else can I say.

"We were given behind the scenes access at Wembley and to run out of the tunnel was an unbelievable experience.

"And then when the managers were revealed, the look on everyone’s faces was something I’ll never forget, we just couldn’t believe it."

Mr Kemp joined other football fans and was managed by England players and North London rivals Ray Parlour and Gary Mabbutt.

Mr Parlour said: "The players have been fantastic and we’ve all had a magnificent day thanks to Vauxhall.

"I am sure they will all remember this day for a very long time - it’s not every day you run out at Wembley Stadium."

Vauxhall head of sponsorship, Chris Hornbuckle, added: "This is our fourth year of running the Big Pitch event and once again it’s been an unbelievable day.

"To fulfil the childhood dreams of England fans is something we are very proud of and the perfect start to what is set to be a fantastic summer of football."
