The youth counselling charity Signpost is seeking young people to join their Youth Parliament.

The parliament will advise Signpost’s Board of Trustees on developing new projects for young people and exert influence on the services young people with psychological or emotional problems receive.

Signpost manager William Allen said: "Any young people can apply to join the parliament. We are looking for young people aged 11-25 with ideas and a desire to change things.

"To be involved, young people do not need to be confident and out-spoken; they need to feel they want to make a difference.

"Suitable candidates may feel strongly about having a voice or they may have had a difficult experience which they don’t want anyone else to have to face alone."

The parliament will be made up of a mixture of young people who have received support from Signpost and young people from the community at large.

The scheme is being sponsored by Watford MP, Richard Harrington, who will host a tour of the Houses of Parliament in the summer.

To apply, candidates only need to complete a simple letter available on Signpost’s website at www.signpostcounselling.co.uk by Friday, May 16.
