A group of Watford ladies have shed almost 15 stone and raised more than £7,000 for charity in a Biggest Loser-style weight loss challenge.

The 14 women, aged between 34 and 65, completed a 12-week charity weight loss challenge based on the popular television programme The Biggest Loser, raising more than £7,000 for Peace Hospice Care.

The ladies undertook group exercise sessions, weekly weigh-ins, one-to-one personal training to drop the weight and received diet and healthy living advice from leisure operator Everyone Active.

The participants were also invited to a grand finale event where they received a makeover and got the opportunity to showcase their new look to family and friends.

Peace Hospice Charity thanked Wendy Morris, Wendy Kirkman, Sara Bedford, Paula Dynes, Lauren Zazzera, Joanna Trela, Jane Abbott, Christina Borg, Jan Cunnington, Donna Duncan, Angela Horan, Gill Crowson, Yvonne Cahill and Kerry Joyce for taking part.

Jan Cunnington, 54, from Abbots Langley, said: "It was hard work but we got all the support we needed from Peace Hospice Care and the amazing personal trainers.

"It wasn’t always easy to stay committed but it was worth it in the end as I lost 1st 4lbs. I feel so much more confident and healthy now."
