Recently we drew attention in our leader column to cattle being driven through the busy main roads of the town on their way to be slaughtered, and it was reported to the council on Monday that the town clerk had received complaints concerning suffering to the animals and the disorganisation of road traffic.
The local RSPCA Inspector has asked the Highways Committee to consider making a bylaw prohibiting cattle, sheep and pigs going on foot through the streets of Watford.
