A social club for people with learning difficulties has been given a cheque for more than £800.

The Monday Club, which holds meetings every Monday night at Abbots Langley Community Centre, received a check from John Lewis and Waitrose worth £810, which had been collected throughout April.

The money will go towards The Monday Club’s next trip to see a musical show in London and will mean that members and helpers only pay around half of all the costs incurred on the trip.

Costs include dinner and travel arrangements. The club hopes to take at least 45 to 50 members and helpers to London.

Phil Cox - UKIP Mayoral candidate for Watford says...

Excellent news!

It is always good to hear of responsible employers helping the community and the Monday Club is a very worthwhile cause. I hope they enjoy their trip to the theatre.
