Customers who purchase a cup of tea from a Chorleywood restaurant will also be supporting the work of a Northwood cancer centre.
The Peppermill, in New Parade, will be donating 25p from the sale of each cup to the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre (LJMC), the support and information service at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, in Rickmansworth Road.
André Vazquez, restaurant owner, said: "I’m really delighted to be able to show support for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre.
"I’ve been familiar with the work of the centre for some time and, like so many people, my family has been affected by cancer. To be able to raise money to enable the LJMC to continue its valuable services is a privilege."
The LJMC’s services include a drop-in centre, complementary therapies and counselling. The centre receives more than 30,000 requests for help each year and makes no charge for its services.
Buzz Coster, the centre’s marketing manager, said: "We are so grateful to André and The Peppermill.
"This is a really generous way of supporting the centre on an ongoing basis. Thank you to André’s customers too."
