'We’re so proud of our Big Brother daughter'

THE parents of model Danielle Lloyd have spoken of their pride at seeing their daughter cope with being a servant during her first week in the celebrity Big Brother house.

Ms Lloyd, 23, hit the headlines last year when she was stripped of her Miss Great Britain title after claims she began dating judge, West Ham striker and Chingford resident Teddy Sheringham before the competition ended.

Organisers were also unhappy about her posing in Playboy magazine.

But one week after she entered the celebrity Big Brother house, Danielle's parents Arthur and Jackie say she has coped admirably.

Mrs Lloyd said: "She seems to be getting on with everyone. At first she was quite shy and nervous but now she knows everyone a bit better. The other housemates seem quite protective of her.

"They seem to like her sense of humour. She is naturally very funny. We'll gradually see the real Danielle come out and hopefully people will love her even more."

During the first week of celebrity Big Brother 2007, the housemates have been split into two sections, with half acting as servants for the other half and living in separate servant quarters.

Danielle was one of those to draw a short straw, however her father says she has coped well so far. Mr Lloyd said: "We have always taught her to fend for herself. She cooks for the family and her and Teddy, so we knew she'd cope.

"The servants' quarters task was not easy to watch as Danielle does not like being on her own. However she just kept her head down and mucked in.

"She will do much better when she moves back into the other house with everyone and probably won't know who to talk to first."

During the first week, Towers of London rocker Donny Tourette and film director Ken Russell have walked out of the house, but Danielle Lloyd's parents believe she has seen off her worst days in the house.

Mrs Lloyd said: "She has stayed strong and knuckled down, got on with her task and we think she will now stay until she is either evicted or for as long as she can."
