Workers at a Watford charity centre were treated to a coffee morning by Asda.

The Lemarie Centre is host to Watford Mencap Children’s Centre, Wheelchair Dance Sport Association, The Stroke Association and Watford and District MSS.

Asda Watford’s community life champion, Zoe Stewart, visited the charity’s site on St Albans Road and treated colleagues volunteers and patients to a selection of products from the store’s bakery range.

Asda colleagues also spoke with individuals from the various charities to learn more about the work they do.

Ms Stewart said: "The Lemarie Centre has been on our doorstep for over 25 years and we wanted to show them that we really value the work they do by treating everyone to a lovely coffee morning courtesy of the store."

Mark Evans, centre manager, added: "We are very grateful to everyone at Asda Watford for treating us all to a lovely afternoon."

Last year Asda Watford colleagues gave the centre a makeover as part of a community initiative to mark the Lemarie’s fiftieth anniversary.
