Eleven Watford men are doing a stag party with a difference - by taking on the Spurs Legends in a football match in aid of the Peace Hospice and prostate cancer charity.

Scott Patmore, 44, who lives in Nascot Wood, is getting married in January to his fiancée Louise Connolly, 34, is inviting everyone to come along to his stag do celebrations - which will also include a hog roast, funfair rides, tombolas, a raffle, face painting, balloon modellers, half-time entertainment and more than 15 stalls for people to visit on Sunday, May 25.

The event at Sun Postal Sports FC in Bellmount Wood Avenue, Watford, will play host to the start of Scott’s stag parties as his Stag XI take on a Tottenham Hotspur Legends team.

Scott, a Spurs season ticket holder for over 15 years, has already sold more than 650 tickets - with all the proceeds will go towards the Peace Hospice and prostate cancer.

Scott, of Juniper Grove, said: "I only have 1,000 tickets available. It is going to be for an extremely good cause so want as many people as possible.

"The match came about when I met ex-Spurs player Mark Falco, who also turns out for the Tottenham Hotspur Legends.

"I met with Mark and the idea just grew legs rapidly. It’s interesting as the Legends side was started by my Dad and Terry Venables 10 to 15 years ago. I played over 15 times for them when they were short in the beginning.

"It’s a bit different now as they are undefeated. It will be a really tough test. They have players in their squad list such as Mark Falco, Darren Anderton, Ramon Vega, Micky Hazard and Andy Sinton. We have had two friendlies as a squad and three training sessions we are taking it seriously and fancy our chances."

Scott’s two sons Charlie, 11, and two-year-old Alfie will be mascots for the day and his daughter, one-year-old Abbie, will be watching dad take on his heroes. Even his 87-year-old nan will be cheering at the sidelines.

The other two events for his stag do are a golf weekend in Bournemouth and a massive party in Ibiza with many of his friends.

However, Scott can’t wait for the first of his three days to start.

He added: "I have a great squad of good friends and some decent old players who have all helped so much with the day. We have a kit sponsor and a ball sponsor organised and it’s going to be a brilliant day."

The Stag XI line-up is: Martin Picton, Benny Lazar, Matt Devereux, Mark Fox, Joe Hansard, Aaron Savina, Corey Brasenell, Ben Cowen, Darren Grieves, Scott Patmore, Nick Simmons, Dean Brasenell, Matt Tyas, Grant Proudfoot, James Hoad. Manager is Peter Henney and assisitant is Dean Seabrook.
