Hornets legend Luther Blissett took to the Vicarage Road turf again along with eight former internationals, including two-time Liverpool European Cup winner Alan Kennedy, and dads from Bushey and Oxhey FC for a charity football match.

For the past month the dads from the boys youth football club have been taking to football stadiums to play in a number of matches all raising money for Action For Kids, Bushey & Oxhey FC and Garston Ladies FC.

They started at Stevenage FC where they were joined on the pitch by Spurs legends Ricky Villa, Micky Hazard and Graham Roberts and also West Ham hero Julian Dicks.

They played against a team of dads and coaches from Garston Ladies who they share facilities together at Bushey Sports Club. They then moved on to the Madejski Stadium in Reading where they had an entertaining 2-2 draw.

The match at Vicarage Road, last Sunday, featured ex professionals Dave Beasant, Alan Kennedy, Luther Blissett, Paul Walsh, Steve Sedgley, Andy Sinton, Kerry Dixon, John Wark, Glen Little and Nicky Shorey.

Goals from Sinton, Sedgley, Little, Shorey and Bushey and Oxhey dads Andy Hemington and Hamza Imansoura gave the team a good win but the result was the last thing on anyone's mind when a raffle and mini auction took the fundraising total past £5,500.

At half time a group of boys and girls took penalties on the pitch. A final game at Leyton Orient will hopefully take the figure past £6,000 for the three beneficiaries.

All the dad's from Bushey & Oxhey FC plan on making this an annual event, and there are even talks about playing a game at a Spanish stadium among next season's plans.
