The Conservatives and Labour Party topped the polls in the European Parliamentary elections in south west Hertfordshire, with the UK Independence Party tailing closely behind.
The Conservatives received the most votes in two of the areas, getting 34 per cent in Three Rivers and 37 per cent in Hertsmere.
Meanwhile in Watford, Labour came out top, with 26 per cent of the votes.
UKIP produced a strong showing across all three areas, gaining the most support in Three Rivers with 29 per cent of the vote, compared to Hertsmere’s 28 per cent and Watford’s 24 per cent.
While the Liberal Democrats dominated the Three Rivers and Watford local elections, they failed to muster the same number of votes for the European battle.
In Three Rivers and Watford the Lib Dems managed to only get 13 per cent and 15 per cent of the vote respectively. Meanwhile in Hertsmere, the party received just five per cent.
Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere fall under the Eastern Region. The results mean the region will return three Conservative MEPs, three UKIP and one Labour to the Brussels parliament.
