There are severe delays on the 25 this morning after a two lorries crashed near Maple Cross.
The Highways Agency warned travel times in the area could be stretched by up to two hours as work on the clean-up continues.
A section of the motorway was closed between Junctions 17 and 16 after the lorries, one of which was carrying wood and the other carrying beer barrels, crashed just before 6am.
The accident caused the cargo of the wood lorry to spill into the road and hit nearby vehicles.
The Highways Agency said all trapped vehicles have now been released.
