Pretty pooches, dashing dogs and marvellous miniatures all had their day at the Dogs Trust’s annual fair this weekend.

Thousands of people descended on the Harefield rehoming centre for its Summer Open Day and Fun Dog Show on Sunday.

Watford Observer:

The summer sun attracted crowds and their four-legged friends to the Harvil Road centre’s event, which ran from 10.30am to 4pm.

Dog competitions were held throughout the day, with a dozen classes including perfect puppy, best golden oldie and best rescue.

Opportunities were also given to some of the residents of the rehoming centre to strut their stuff and show what rescue dogs have to offer.

Other canine events included the doggy dash, temptation alley and have-a-go-agility, in which pet owners brought their four-legged friends to compete in fun obstacle courses while raising cash for the centre.

For the humans, there was an array of refreshments on offer, face painting, and games such as hoop a frog.

Proceeds from the event are still being counted.
