Jewellery was stolen after burglars broke into a Rickmansworth house last week.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the Batchworth Heath property was broken into at about 9.35pm last Friday.

Criminals smashed a front window to get into the property and stole six white drawers from two bedside cabinets and their contents, which included jewellery.

A dark coloured car, possibly an Astra, with tinted windows was spotted in the area around the time of the break-in.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses.

Assistant investigator Kevin Deudon said: "Tracing the occupant(s) of the vehicle seen is of great interest to us as they may have information about the incident that will assist the investigation. If this was you, or you saw a vehicle of similar description, please contact me.

"This happened on a Friday night and the road is directly opposite the Ye Olde Green Manne Public House and so it’s possible someone at the pub may have seen something unusual or suspicious. I would urge any such person to contact me immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Assistant Investigator Deudon on 101, citing crime reference C2/14/1092 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
