More than £900 was raised for a diabetes charity at a quiz night held in Bushey Heath.

The Michael Green Foundation hosted the night at the Three Crowns.

Joanne Green, who founded the charity, said: "£900 is a fantastic sum to raise and much more than we ever expected.

"It was a fun evening and the place was packed with friends and supporters, along with the pub regulars who help to support these local charity events."

Money raised will be donated through The Michael Green Foundation to the Michael Clements Diabetes Centre at Watford General Hospital.

The latest project is to fund a pilot scheme for a specially trained dietician to work with the unit and help advise patients on their condition.

Mr Duffy, pub landlord, said: "I have always enjoyed the cheque reveal but above all, I and all of our regulars enjoy making a difference to people’s lives and above all helping people with a passion for a cause."
