Watford Mencap issues charity challenge to pubs in Three Rivers
Watford Mencap is challenging Three Rivers pubs to commit to one week of fundraising each between now and September.
Whether it be a quiz, karaoke night or waxing a customer, all the pubs in the area are being encouraged to participate in one week of fundraising for the learning disabilities charity.
Dick Morgan, owner of the Coach and Horses, in Rickmansworth, and the Royal Oak, in Abbotts Langley, is keen for his pubs to take part.
He said: "Being a long term supporter of Watford Mencap by organising the Rickmansworth Pancake Race every year, we are delighted to give further support by taking part in this challenge. Our staff are looking forward to competing against each other and other local pubs."
Although affiliated to Mencap, Watford Mencap is an independent charity so every penny raised will go towards supporting people with learning disabilities, and their families, in the local community.
The pub that raises the most money in their week of the challenge will receive a trophy.
If publicans would like to take part and have not yet received details then contact Carol Tunstall on 01923 713622 or firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
