Kings Langley School Early Intervention Partnership has been granted nearly ten thousand pounds by the Big Lottery Fund.

The group, which consists of Kings Langley Secondary School, Kings Langley Primary School, Bedmond Primary School, Sarratt Primary School, Nash Mills Primary School and St Pauls Chipperfield Primary School recieved a grant for £9,850.

Gary Lewis, headteacher at Kings Langley School, said: "We are delighted to be in receipt of funding from the Big Lottery Fund and this will help potentially 270 children and young people cope with some of life’s challenges."

The partnership has announced that they will be using the funding to maintain a service for young people in the area, which will include mentoring, counselling and emotional wellbeing and support services.

It is hoped that these services will help students and children to manage stress and encounter less difficulty in education.

The Big Lottery Fund is responsible for awarding 40 per cent of the money raised by the National Lottery. Since it was founded a decade ago it has granted more than £6 billion to causes in health, education and the environment.
