Police have seized a large amount of suspected cocaine in Croxley Green.

A 50-year-old man was arrested during the execution of the drugs warrant on Friday, June 6.

Officers from Operation Scorpion and the tactical team raided the property in New Road at about 1pm.

A man from Croxley Green was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Chief Inspector for Three Rivers Deirdre Dent said the arrest was made as part of the force-wide initiative - Operation Scorpion - to drive down crime and make Hertfordshire a hostile place for offenders.

She said: "Operation Scorpion aims to target those who are involved in the supply of drugs and associated acquisitive crime, included burglary and theft.

"For the residents of Croxley Green, an area which enjoys low levels of crime, this type of proactive police activity is unusual, but I’d reassure people that the area doesn’t have a big drugs problem.

"We will continue to carry out such activity across Three Rivers where we suspect drugs supply is taking place. If you have suspicions about drug related activity in your neighbourhood, please let us know so we can investigate and take action where appropriate."
