Water is NOT in short supply in Watford, despite reports of rivers and streams drying up.
Deputy engineer and manager of Watford water Department, Mr S Fraser, said: “We are in a good position. We have a surplus and have been supplying the Colne Valley with over a million gallons a day.
“It is true the wells and bore holes in the Thames area are very low for the time of year, and it is touch and go with the Colne Valley and Rickmansworth and Uxbridge Water Companies, but they should have sufficient to keep going through the summer, providing there is no long drought.”
