A Croxley Green councillor will be embarking on a 40-mile trek to raise money for Syrian refugees.
Chris Lloyd, Liberal Democrat representative for Durrants, will be walking along the Grand Union Canal, from Croxley Green to Wendover later this month.
Councillor Lloyd will be walking the distance to raise money for Syrian refugees in Lebanon on June 28.
He said: "It’s important to help people. You have got to make the world a better place in whichever way you can.
"I have never walked 40 miles before and I thought I would do something that I hadn’t done before.
"If you consider the pain and hardship of those who are displaced in other communities then I thought I needed to do something to try to help them."
Councillor Lloyd, who is a project manager, will be setting off at 5.30am and hopes to raise £1,000 for charity.
